The aim of the project was to place Rågsved in the centre, and Stockholm in the periphery for one week. Therefore Ann Rosén "placed" the suburb Rågsved at the Swedish National Art Council gallery, a video installation was shown in the gallery window. 15th artists was invited to investigate doorways/gateways in Ragsved,14 artists for working in 14 different multistorey block buildings and a fifteenth artist to work with a virtuel gate from the school in Rågsved. The artists contacted the tenants in "their" house and involved them - in one way or another - in their work. The people living in Rågsved could visit their suburb in the centre of the city, and people from the centre came to look at what's going on in Rågsved. A switch, a way to find out that the important thing isn't where you are, but how you look upon it. |
